Ten people have been confirmed dead following a collision between a VIP bus and a diesel trailer on the Accra–Kumasi Highway.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reported the incident occurred on April 13 at around 2:00 PM near Mile 44.
According to the Suhum Municipal Fire Station, a distress call was received, and a seven-member team responded swiftly to the scene.
The Fire Service attributed the crash to the bus driver’s wrongful overtaking.
A total of 33 passengers were on board. Casualties include nine males and one female.
No passengers were trapped in the wreckage, but both vehicles sustained partial damage.
Fire crews secured the area before returning to base.
