A horrific head-on collision between a container truck and a passenger bus at Peki-Tsame has claimed 15 lives and left 25 others injured, authorities have confirmed.
The fatal crash occurred in the early hours of Tuesday near the premises of Peki Senior High School, a scene that first responders have described as devastating.
According to officials, a container truck traveling toward Accra collided head-on with a passenger bus en route from Battor to Kabiti.

The bus was carrying passengers including traders, students, and families.
In total, 40 people were involved in the accident, 21 men, 15 women, and four children.
Firefighters who arrived at the scene worked to extract victims from the twisted wreckage.
They successfully rescued 25 injured persons, among them two children, and rushed them to the Peki Government Hospital, where they are currently receiving emergency medical care.

Tragically, 15 people did not survive the crash. The deceased comprise nine men and six women.
Their bodies have been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for preservation and identification.
The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision.
While authorities have not yet issued a preliminary finding, speeding, driver fatigue, and poor visibility have been factors in similar crashes on this stretch of road.
In response to the tragedy, the Ghana National Fire Service has issued an urgent appeal to motorists.
The Service urged drivers to reduce speed, avoid reckless driving and dangerous overtaking, and strictly observe road traffic regulations.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families,” the Service said in a statement.
“Every life lost on our roads is one too many.”
This latest incident adds to growing concerns over road safety in Ghana, particularly on major highways where head-on collisions remain a leading cause of fatalities.
