2,719 coronavirus cases recorded in Ghana

Ghana’s number of coronavirus cases has risen to 2,719 as at Monday, May 4, 2020.

The new figure is an update from the previously recorded cases of 2,169 on Saturday, May 2.

From the new update, over 500 new cases have been recorded in some few days.

The Ghana Health Service has explained that the huge figures are as a result of enhanced contact tracing in some communities.

Out of the 2,719 cases, 294 of the persons have recovered and have been discharged.

18 patients who contracted the virus have lost their lives in Ghana.
