Ghana has confirmed 4,012 cases of coronavirus as at May 8, 2020.
The figure is an overwhelming increase by close to 1,000 cases.
“Over 50% of these cases were as a result of an outbreak in an industrial facility with 1,300 workers of which 533 have been confirmed positive”, the Ghana Health Service said on its website.
The service, however, did not give the name of the industrial facility.
The previous figure stood at 3,091 as at May 7, 2020.
323 out of the 4, 012 cases recorded have recovered and have been discharged.
18 people who contracted the virus have lost their lives in Ghana.
