5,127 Coronavirus cases recorded in Ghana

Ghana’s COVID-19 cases have risen to 5,127 after an increase of 427 cases.

The trend of new coronavirus cases seems to have taken the heat off Accra, as Obuasi in the Ashanti region recorded 272 of the total number of cases.

Obuasi overtime has been recognised by the Ashanti regional health experts as the region’s own epicentre as more 50% of cases recorded in the region come from there.

According to the latest figures, there have been no new deaths nor recoveries, with the figure still standing at 22 and 494 respectively.

However, some 130 persons awaiting their second negative test, according to the Ghana Health Service.

The service’s Director-General gave this update at a briefing on Tuesday morning.

Greater Accra Region, the country’s epicentre saw only an increase of 89 coronavirus cases to bring its total to 3,981.
