Stonebwoy feels that C.E.O of Charterhouse, Theresa Ayoade’s recent comments against him and Shatta Wale is inappropriate.
At a forum organized by Charterhouse to announce plans for the 2020 Ghana Music Awards, Theresa Ayoade asked the media to grow beyond Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
This follows an indefinite ban slapped on the two artistes after their brawl at the 2019 Ghana Music Awards.
The C.E.O said that there are many talents in Ghana who can equally rise to the top with the necessary push from Ghanaians and the media.
“Can you as the media help the industry rise above these two? Let’s rise above these two and let the industry breathe and move on. Sarkodie won artiste of the decade and nobody even talked about it. The industry is bigger than these two artistes and that what I what I want you to go back with. There are a lots of young people who need the opportunity so let’s move on”, she said.
Reacting to these comments, Stonebwoy stated that Theresa Ayoade’s comments were negative and shouldn’t be encouraged.
“Asking people to grow beyond us is a negative call more than banning us. It’s your own private awards if you decide to ban us we accept your rules. But when you ask people to grow beyond the two of us then it’s like you are taking music out of our mouths,” he said.
Stonebwoy stressed that the Ghana Music Industry is bigger than the privately-owned Ghana Music Awards so Theresa Ayoade’s comment shouldn’t be regarded.
