Kidi, King Promise and others do RnB not Highlife music – Ded Buddy

Alex Amankwa

Ghanaian RnB singer Ded Buddy has called for people to stop referring to Kidi, King Promise, Kuami Eugene and others as Highlife singers.

Ded Buddy made this statement in an interview with Obibinii on Zylonfon FM saying that the kind of music these artistes do is not highlife but rather RnB.

He added that their music is similar to what Chris Brown does and with the right push, these artistes would be able to reach international heights.

Born Eric Turkson, Ded Buddy came to attention in 1990 as a member of rap group Native Funk Lords (NFL), which also had Eddie Blay, Tiny Quaye and Jake as members.
