Asante Kotoko have decided to play their home matches for the remainder of the season at the Accra Sports Stadium after the Baba Yara Sports Stadium was closed down.

The stadium has been closed ahead of Ghana’s 63rd Independence Anniversary celebration on March 6.

The NSA said the closure is to enable it and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to have ample and uninterrupted time to fix critical places of the stadium.

The renovation would, however, resume immediately after the celebrations.

The Porcupine Warriors announced on their Twitter handle, Friday: “Management has chosen the Accra Sports Stadium as our home ground for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season.”

Not only Kotoko have been affected by the closure of the Baba Yara Stadium. King Faisal, also and they are still in search of new home ground. But it’s likely they will use the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

Kotoko are fifth in the league after 11 matches.
