Reggae and Dancehall artiste, Iwan has called on Charterhouse, organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, to honour him.

The singer says he has contributed immensely to the music industry over the last decade and deserves the honour.

“Charterhouse is supposed to honour me,” he said on Kingdom FM.

Iwan said he set the pace as the first Ghanaian musician to do mainstream dancehall songs in English.

He further stated that he was the first Dancehall artiste to receive an award in Ghana.

“I was the first dancehall artiste to receive an award in Ghana but the industry is not paying attention to me”, he bemoaned.

The ‘Thanks and Praises’ hit maker feels the media has deliberately sidelined him.

Iwan won ‘Best Reggae Song of the Year’ at the 2011 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
