Fans are still sending messages wishing Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o a happy birthday after she posted a video on Instagram showing her partying in Lagos, Nigeria, over the weekend:
A few days previously the Hollywood actress posted a picture of herself and acclaimed Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in matching outfits:
The two know each other because Nyong’o had previously bought the rights to dramatise Ms Ngozi Adichie’s 2013 novel Americanah.
Nyong’o is playing the lead role – a Nigerian girl who keeps in touch with her Nigerian boyfriend when she moves to the US and he moves to the UK.
The dramatisation is planned to be a 10-part series on HBO.
