Ghanaian afrobeat and hip hop musician, Michael Takyi-Frimpong, better known as Lord Paper, has reacted to his nomination in the Breakthrough Act of the Year category for the 3Music Awards.

Lord Paper, who also earned a nomination in the New Artist of the Year category of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is not exactly excited about this.

Speaking on 3Music Awards Daily the ‘Asa Bone’ composer said he is not a new artiste.

According to Lord Paper, he broke through in the year 2016, and hence believes the award belongs to the acts that rightly had their breakthrough in the year under review.

He also greatly appreciated the organizers for recognizing him because he thought he would never be nominated.

He said: “I was not even hoping to be nominated for anything, but I am happy I got a nomination. But, the award belongs to those who broke through last year. Me… I have been in this game for a while.”

Lord Paper was nominated in 3Music Awards’ Breakthrough Act of the Year with Sefa, Fameye, J Derobie, Tulenkey, MOG Music, Kofi Mole and OV.
