Ghana coach Charles Akonnor has said Kevin-Prince Boateng is not ready to play for the Black Stars again following a conversation he had with the attacker.

The 32-year-old has not played for Black Stars since he was sacked from camp after allegedly insulting then coach Kwesi Appiah during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

CK Akonnor named his first Ghana squad on Tuesday ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.

After announcing the squad, Akonnor was asked about the Besiktas forward and he responded: “I have spoken to Kevin Prince Boateng over a possible return but he is not ready to play for Ghana.”

The 32-year-old has been capped 15 times by Ghana, scoring two goals.
