The Ghana Education Service has instructed heads of all schools in Ghana to suspend all public activities such as speech days in their schools.
In a communique issued by the service after a meeting with the Ghana Health Service, Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, Director-General of the GES, said “public activities such as Speech and Prize-Giving Days” must be suspended “until further directives are given by the Director-General.”
The decision taken by the GES deems necessary in the wake of Ghana recording two cases of the deadly coronavirus.
According to reports, the two individuals infected by the virus both arrived in Ghana about a week ago and are currently in quarantine.
