Former MUSIGA President, Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obour has requested his late father’s autopsy report from the Greater Accra Regional Hospital.

The musician is seeking this to confirm the cause of death of his late father, Nana Osei Boansi Kuffour (Oyokohene) of Juaso, who passed away at the facility formerly known as Ridge Hospital.

A letter from his lawyers, Smith & Adelaide, addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the health facility, requests a post-mortem to determine the cause of his father’s death.

His lawyers added that Obour will seek the services of an independent medical officer to undertake the autopsy should the hospital be unable to carry out the task.

“If the medical facility is not in the position to undertake the autopsy within the shortest possible time, their client [Obour] will offer to contract an independent medical officer to undertake the autopsy, subject to the safety measures and regulations governing such procedures”, the letter added.

This request follows reports alleging that Obour concealed his father’s coronavirus status.

Obour is reported to have failed to disclose the travel history of his father to officers at Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ridge, on Thursday, March 27, 2020.

Father of the musician reportedly developed symptoms of the virus after returning to Ghana from a trip to the US.

The musician is said to have put all medical officers, who attended to his father, at risk of contracting coronavirus since they were not in any protective gear.

Obour has however denied this allegation and also stated that he tested negative for coronavirus.
