A wrap of the English Premier League games played on Saturday afternoon with Chelsea failing to win at home while Liverpool and Tottenham made home advantage count.

The Blues were beaten 1-0 at Stamford Bridge by London rivals West Ham. Frank Lampard’s side had plenty of chances early on but failed to punish the away side.

However, Aaron Cresswell punished Chelsea when he scored the winner three minutes after the break as he cut inside and fired low past Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Elsewhere in North London, Jose Mourinho continued his fine start as Tottenham Hotspurs manager with a third straight victory against Bournemouth.  Spurs won 3-2.

The result lifts Tottenham, who secured their first back-to-back Premier League victories this season, up to fifth in the table, while the visitors drop to 12th.

Liverpool keeper Alisson was sent off for a blatant handball outside his penalty area as the Reds moved 11 points clear at the top of the table with victory over Brighton.

In other games, Palace posted a 2-0 win against Burnley with Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp on target.

Earlier on Saturday, Manchester City were held to a pulsating 2-2 draw by Newcastle United.
