One of Ghana’s most respected artistes, M.anifest, is not perturbed by CNN’s recent list of Africa’s biggest music stars.
According to him, the list is not important to him because it doesn’t put money in his pocket.
‘It doesn’t put money in my pocket to think about this. It doesn’t gain me another fan’, he said.
The ‘GodMC’ asked that Ghanaians focus on more important things rather than a list compiled by CNN.
‘Sometimes we worry about the wrong things….Lets focus on the work and getting the work done. Everything else is a bonus’, he added.
Earlier this week, popular news channel, CNN, released a list of 10 biggest artistes in Africa and Nigerian stars dominated the list.
Nigerian artistes on the list include Burna Boy, Wizkid, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade.
Anjelique Kidjo, Diamond Platnumz, Sho Madjozi, Busiswa Gqulu, and Slapdee complete the list.
Many have wondered how CNN failed to acknowledge Ghanaian music super stars including Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Sarkodie in its list.
Others have severely criticized CNN for not revealing the criteria used in selecting the top 10 music stars in Africa.
