Ghanaian actress Gloria Sarfo has advised government against opening the country’s borders.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo  since March 21, 2020 has kept the borders of Ghana closed.

This is part of preventive measures against the importation of the novel coronavirus.

Gloria Sarfo said that opening the borders could jeopardize the safety of Ghanaians even if it was momentarily.

“Even with our borders closed, people find their way into the country and tested positive for the virus”, she told Mercy Bee.

Responding to calls for Ghanaians abroad to be allowed to return, the actress said the government could find a way to bring them back with all the necessary precautions in place.

“The government opening our borders temporarily for Ghanaians stuck outside to return may be problematic, but if the government can go for them just as other countries are doing then, I think that is feasible”, she added.

The actress acknowledged that the likes of Sarkodie, D-Black and Pappy Kojo, who are stranded abroad, have been missed by Ghanaians.
