Organisers of the Third Edition of the 3Music Awards, which was held virtually due to the ban on social gatherings say, they lost a lot of money organising this year’s event.

Due to the president’s directive on a ban on all forms of social gatherings, this year’s award scheme came off at the Fantasy Dome inside the Trade Fair Centre, Accra on May 2, 2020, without its regular pack of audience.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the awards scheme, Sadiq Abdulai Abu speaking in an interview on HappyFM said, they made no profits from the awards scheme.

He said, “We have lost a lot of money. Over the years we have spent money without getting anything back.”

Speaking to the issue of profit, Sadiq says it is not unusual for a brand to start and have revenue issues.

“We are building a brand and we need to build a reputation and not be focused on the money,” he said.

When asked if no sponsors supported the event this year, Sadiq responded saying; “Nasco electronics supported the next rated category.”

Other partners for the awards scheme were mostly bloggers and media houses.
