After admitting that he had betrayed the trust of his boss Kawya, Yaw Berk has now turned his attention to top Ghanaian acts.
According to the artiste, some top Ghanaian artistes are hypocrites because they preach unity and love but practise the opposite.
“Some of them are hypocrites; they will come out publicly to talk about support your own but behind closed doors, they don’t support like they run to media to brag about,” he told NewsOne.
Yaw Berk said this because some top artistes in Ghana he contacted for collaborations turned him down.
“I have been turned down by couple of people. I can’t mention names though but that’s how it is. Until they feel like you on the some level with them, they won’t mind you,”,he said.
The young artiste feels top artistes are afraid of working with rising artistes due to the fear that these young acts will soon become greater than them.
“…The established acts don’t want the young ones to grow because they think that we the young ones are coming to take over their shows and more. Even if you want a verse from one of them, it is very difficult because they know the young artiste will come to take over,” he said.
He also alleged that popular artistes collaborate with young talents only when they want to take advantage of them.
Yaw Berk had his breakthrough with the song ‘Independent Lady’ after his participation in the MTN Hitmaker Season 7.
The artiste released his new EP titled ‘I Am Yaw Berk EP’ in November 2019
