Young actors lack passion – Papa Nii

Ghanaian actor Pattington Papa Nii Papafio believes that the current crop of actors in Ghana lack passion for the job.

According to the veteran actor, passion is the only difference between his generation and the current generation of filmmakers.

“…We did it because we wanted to do it, so, the passion was great. The passion was very very great”.

“That is what I can say is the difference. These days you don’t see people doing things with passion”, he told Benjamin Akakpo on the Executive Breakfast Show.

Papa Nii feels that some youngsters only join the movie industry because they want to be known.

“Maybe, people just see what people, others have done and they also want to join but not that they’ve sat down to have a deeper sense that: ‘I want to become an actor’, ‘I want to become a driver and nothing else’.”

Papa Nii is best remembered as the actor who hilariously uses big vocabulary on screen.
