Final year students in Ghana are expected to report to school on June 22 for six weeks of revision before they start their final exam (WASSCE) on August 22nd, 2020.
According to the Education Minister, Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, the examinations will span across five weeks.
“They will be there for academic work and revision for six weeks do their West Africa Examination Council, the Ghana exams that we understand will take five weeks,” Dr. Opoku-Prempeh said.
He went on to explain that, the office of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Ghana has been consulted to set the papers specific to the country since other countries in the sub-region are tackling the pandemic and its effects uniquely.
He also directed that there should be no assemblies, religious activities or any mass gatherings when the schools re-open.
Students going back to school are to also note, visitors would not be allowed in the schools, all in a bid to prevent an outbreak in the institutions.
The Minister’s update follows the President’s directive to ease some of the restrictions on educational institutions across the country on Sunday.
