Ghanaian actor, Kwadwo Nkansah popularly known as Lil Win has apologized to former CEO of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr Stephen Opuni, for defaming him.

Lil Win during a TV show dubbed ‘Don’t Think Far News’ on Adom TV, made some claims against the former CEO.

He showcased numerous metal boxes in rooms which were filled to the brim with US$100 bundles.

He then alleged that the metal boxes filled with the notes were found in the house of Dr. Opuni.

The actor claimed that Dr Opuni stole the money which he had filled in rooms.

“One individual has packed all this money in his room and is spending it, building big houses while our roads are in deplorable states and we’re experiencing instability in our energy sector. God is our helper,” Lil Win said in Twi.

Also, Lil Win claimed that Dr. Opuni used part of the money to construct a plush tomb where his late mother was buried.

The former COCOBOD CEO sued the actor together with The Multimedia Group Limited, owners of Adom TV.

Dr. Opuni is seeking GHC 10million in damages and other injuries to his public image.

The lawsuit is still pending in a court in Accra.

Lil Win has rendered an apology to Dr Stephen Opuni for his unsubstantiated comments.

The actor admitted that his claims were “false” and therefore asked Dr Opuni to forgive him for any pain or injury caused him.

“Papa forgive us our sins and forgive all those who were part. We know you are a child of God and will give us the needed hearing, God bless you,” Lil Win prayed.

Lil Win’s apology has been aired on Adom TV.
