Some Ghanaians have taken to social media to express their excitement after Bice Osei Kufour, popularly known as Obour, lost the Asante Akyim South New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary.
The musician was beaten by the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Kwaku Asante-Boateng.
Earlier reports indicated that the singer had won the election causing his fans to jubilate till the Electoral Commission declared official results.
Obour had 296 votes while Mr. Asante-Boateng polled 360 votes.
NPP delegates have voted to elect parliamentary candidates for 168 constituencies.
