A group of unidentified persons allegedly attacked Afrobeat artiste Kelvyn Boy on Monday afternoon in Ashaiman.

The ‘Coffee’ hitmaker was in the area to honour the opening of the new Electroland Ghana Limited shop.

Footage that has gone viral online shows Kelvyn Boy walking into the shop with a camera crew inspecting the work done so far.

The mob pounced on the musician, ignoring the cameras and officials in the shop, but he was quickly moved to safety by security personnel at the premises.

Taking to Twitter to comment on the incident, Kelvyn Boy insinuated that the attack was orchestrated by an Ashaiman native but failed.

“You send people make dem come beat me? You think say Ashaiman be your own?” he tweeted.

“The moment you start fight me norr wey you Loose. You Dey fear me … ? Your thing make beans. Your killers no fit throw dem hand”

Also present at the scene was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 3 Music Awards, Sadiq Abdulai Abu.

He also tweeted, “This is f*cked up. You attack a business that’s making an investment in your own community? This is some BS. Some people are taking this fanaticism to stupid heights.”

Kelvyn’s remarks raised suspicions that the assailants were fans of Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, who had once signed Kelvyn Boy on his Burniton Label
