Ghanaian rapper, Okyeame Kwame, has said artiste manager, Ricky Nana Agyemang, better known as Bullet is generally more successful as an artiste manager than as a rapper.

The member of defunct music group, Ruff and Smooth, he said has achieved more in the industry because artistes managed by him are largely successful.

He urged new artistes struggling to succeed in the industry to learn from Bullet and consider other options available to them.

Speaking in an interview on Angel 102.9FM’s Mid-morning Show, Okyeame Kwame said: “If you are seeking to be an artiste and it doesn’t work, then you need to come to the realisation that maybe it won’t work. Perhaps, you need to try something else.

“You can be a recording artiste manager…look at Bullet, he has succeeded more as an artiste manager than as a rapper…,” he said.

He recounted how some members of his extended family members tried to convince his parents to stop him from becoming a rapper.

According to him, the said family members were not happy with his career due to the belief that he would become a wayward person.

“When I started rapping and started appearing on TV, my mother’s sisters who are outside called parents and warned that if they don’t stop me from singing and rapping, I would would go ‘high’…,” he revealed in an interview on

The rap doctor told host Ohemaa Woyeje that his father however did not give into to their requests and instead encouraged him.

“My father sarcastically told them yes, I want him to feel high…,” he said.
