Arsenal have had their second bid for Ghana ace Thomas Partey rejected by his club, Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish club insists they will not sell the holding midfielder for less than his €50m (£45.5m) release clause.
The Gunners second bid of player plus cash has been turned by Atletico Madrid. They presented a bid €25m plus out of favour midfielder Matteo Guendouzi. But it was rejected on Monday, according to reports.
Arsenal had initially tried to persuade Atleti to sell when sent a similar bid two weeks ago. This means Arsenal must raise €50m (£45.5m) to pay for the services of their long-term target.
They must be fast in rasing the mney as Atleti are also desperate to extend Partey’s contract. A new contract will see Partey’s release clause rise to at least €1000m.
Partey joined the club in 2013 and has two years to run on his current deal.
