Highlife legend Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has singled out Kofi Kinaata as the best Highlife artist in Ghana currently.

The veteran artist described the young artist as the only one who is currently preserving indigenous Highlife music.

He argued that Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy’s music have no Ghanaian identity.

“If you take Kinaata, when he sings you could see that there is kind of locality in there and when he is rapping to you can see the locality”, Ambuley said on Joy Prime TV.

The veteran artist however urged Kofi Kinaata to work harder and learn more about the craft.

The ‘Confession’ hit maker has been nominated for the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ‘Artist of the Year’.

Kofi Kinaata has thrilled Ghanaians to tunes like ‘Susuka’, ‘Behind The Scenes’, ‘Things Fall Apart’, ‘Confession’, ‘Time No Dey’ and others.
