Ghanaian artiste, Akwaboah Jnr has shared his two cents on the infamous crowning of Kuame Eugene by Amakye Dede as the future of Highlife music at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Recall that during the VGMAs last year just before it was brought to an abrupt end by the unruly behaviour of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, Amakye Dede paused midway through his performance to crown Kuame Eugene as the New Highlife King and the future of the genre.

Speaking to Kwaku Manu in an interview, Akwaboah he did not mince words at all by claiming the whole thing was wrong since it wasn’t even Amakye Dede’s intention.

“I don’t think Amakye Dede would pick a crown from the house, mount a stage and crown Kuami Eugene as the future of Highlife music. It was staged and you could clearly see it on the stage,” he stated on Kwaku Manu’s aggressive show.
