A commercial driver, Liman Akwara, on Friday surprised his passengers when he parked suddenly to go after Shatta Wale.
The passengers from Lapaz to Accra had their journey cut short in front of Joy FM when the driver of the vehicle redirected his vehicle to kokomlemle because he heard Shatta wale was visiting Hitz FM.
He instructed his mate to refund the lorry fare to the passengers so they can disembark.
The Dancehall artist had been booked for an interview on Hitz FM.
According to broadcast journalist George Addo Jnr, who witnessed the incident, the driver told the passengers to get off his vehicle because he was not interested in driving them to their destinations anymore.
The trotro driver tried to enter the media giant’s offices to see his superstar but was prevented by security.
George Addo Jnr. later rushed to the Hitz FM studio while Shatta Wale was being interviewed on DaybreakHitz to narrate the incident.
Host of the show, Andy Dosty, and Shatta Wale asked that the driver be allowed to join them in the studio.
When he was ushered in, he took off his shirt to unveil a tattoo of Shatta Wale on his back.
The trotro driver revealed his dream was to see and hug Shatta Wale and it had come to pass.
Shatta Wale tried taking the driver’s contact so he could give him money but he refused.
The trotro driver stated that all he wanted was to meet his superstar and that was enough.
