Dancehall act Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale has supported claim that he is more popular than President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The artist’s manager, Bulldog, claimed the popularity of the singer surpasses that of the nation’s leader.
Bulldog argued that Shatta Wale draws a massive crowd wherever he goes based on his charisma and appeal to the public.
He added that this gives him the edge over the president who leads an entire nation.
In an interview on Kumasi-based Angel FM, Shatta Wale supported his manager’s claim.
“What my manager Bulldog is saying is true. I’m more popular than President Akufo-Addo”.
He added that “President Akufo-Addo cannot sing like the way I sing and Ghanaians follow showbiz more than Politics”.
“Though I’m popular and I have plenty people who support my music but I will never disrespect President Akufo-Addo because of my popularity. He is our president and he deserves our respect” Shatta Wale stressed.
