Assistant Chief Fire Officer Grade Two (ACFOII) Mr Jacob Hagan has officially bowed out of the Ghana National Fire Service, after 33 years of active service.
The colourful ceremony, held at the Northern Regional Headquarters of the Service in Tamale, was attended by dignitaries including the Northern Regional Minister, the Savannah Regional Fire Service Commander and heads of other security services.
Prior to his retirement, ACFOII Mr Hagan served as the Northern Regional Accountant, and later became the Second-in-Command to the Northern Regional Commander, and eventually the substantive Northern Regional Commander, a role he held for one month.

ACFOII Mr Hagan, at the ceremony, expressed gratitude to colleague officers, friends, and family, who made his journey in the Service a memorable one.
He advised young officers to remain respectful, obedient and maintain a high level of discipline, to help them go far in the Service.
ACFOI Mr Joseph Koranteng, the Northern Regional Fire Commander, who delivered a farewell message on behalf of the Chief Fire Officer, described the retiree as a trailblazer, saying “You have mentored countless firefighters, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect and unwavering dedication within the Service.”
He also described the retiree as not just a fire officer but also a friend and a pillar of support to the Northern Regional Command.
ACFOI Koranteng emphasised that the dedication, expertise and passion exhibited by Mr Hagan over the years, had been the driving force behind the successes of the Service in the area, and that his absence would be greatly missed for the indelible mark he had left in the hearts of many people.

He thanked the retiree for his selfless service to the country, assuring him that his legacy would continue to inspire the younger generation and wished him all the best in his future endeavours.
