Madam Sandra Seyram Kpedor, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Anloga, has launched a road patching initiative targeting pothole-ridden stretches across the district to improve travel and boost economic activities.
The exercise, which covers critical roads from Tegbi through Savietula to Galo Sota Junction, seeks to restore deteriorated routes that have long hampered movement and affected livelihoods.
Madam Kpedor, speaking during the exercise, said all necessary measures had been put in place to address the challenges and ensure safer and more accessible roads for communities.
“I appeal to all road users to cooperate with engineers and workers undertaking the patching works to ensure progress and a safe, incident-free working environment,” she stated.
She reaffirmed her commitment to Anloga’s development, stressing that improved road infrastructure was vital for mobility, trade, and the transportation of goods such as fish and farm produce within and beyond the district.
“We don’t have many good roads in our district, and the few we have are deteriorating. We must collaborate to protect and improve them for our collective good,” she added.
The DCE said the project also forms part of efforts to bridge infrastructure gaps, aligning with broader goals to enhance living standards in the district.
Some residents who spoke to the GNA welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that it would bring lasting relief from years of pothole-related travel difficulties.
They commended Madam Kpedor’s proactive approach and linked the intervention to the government’s “Big Push Programme” under President John Dramani Mahama, which seeks to rehabilitate several roads in the district, including stretches at Savietula, Shime, and Agorbledokui.
