Krachi East NADMO Director empowers staff for enhanced disaster management

Mr. Jonathan Dzunu, the Krachi East Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), has embarked on a mission to build the capacity of staffers.

This initiative aims to enhance the organization’s response to disasters and emergencies in the municipalities.

Addressing the staff, Mr. Dzunu stated that the organization is responsible for managing areas affected by disasters and providing related matters.

Speaking during the training session, the director emphasized the importance of utilizing the acquired skills to improve NADMO’s disaster response and management capabilities.

He encouraged the staff to apply the knowledge gained to enhance their performance and contribute to the organization’s success.

Mr. Kofi Ahedor, the Oti regional Director of Administration, has taken the staff through the framework law guiding NADMO.

He said the framework law guiding NADMO includes preparing national disaster plans, monitoring and evaluating disaster plans, establishing facilities for technical training, coordinating relief and reconstruction efforts.

On emergency case management, he educated the staff on how to respond to various emergency situations, which including natural disasters and accidents.

He emphasised the importance of understanding roles and responsibilities during emergency responses, ensuring a coordinated and effective response.

The staff acknowledged the efforts of the facilitators, both the Municipal director and the regional administrator.

They appreciated the valuable insights and practical skills gained during the training, which will enable them to respond more effectively to emergencies and disasters in the municipality.
