Photojournalists from some African countries are undertaking a five-day training seminar to improve their skills and knowledge in photojournalism.
The training is organized by the Atlantic Federation of African Press Agencies (FAAPA) at the African Centre for the training of Journalists (CAFJ) on the theme: “Mastering Photojournalism”.
The training is to enhance their knowledge and to build their capacities by equipping them with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to improve their trade.
It is also to help them to share experiences and reflections on challenges facing Photojournalists in Africa.
Mr Fouad Arif, the President of FAAPA, during his welcoming address, said Photojournalism was important as it was a powerful tool of telling stories and could also shape public opinion on information they received.
“Indeed, in a global context where information and images circulate at frantic Speed, African Press Agencies must attach great importance to the development of their photographic services in order to be in line with the profound change that characterized the evolution of the media in the era of artificial intelligence and the digital revolution.” He stated
Mr Arif who is also the Director General of Moroccan Agency (MAP), encouraged the participants to improve their techniques and develop theirs creativity to contribute to the development of their respective press Agencies in Africa after acquiring the training.
Mr Jean Bedel Ndandula, a Facilitator from the Congolese Press Agency, said the participants were reporters and photographers from 25 African Press Agencies country on the “Mastering photojournalism training seminar in Morocco.
