Abankesieso: Denkyirahene exchanges pleasantries with dignitaries

The newly enstooled Denkyirahene, Odeefo Boa Amponsem IV, on Thursday exchanged pleasantries with a host of dignitaries, chiefs and invited guests at Abankesieso in Dunkwa-on-Offin, following his grand arrival at the traditional capital to finalise his installation.

The colourful event, which drew hundreds of people from far and near, marked another significant moment in the Denkyira Traditional Area’s rich history.

Amid drumming, dancing and chants of appellations, the Denkyirahene was ushered to the durbar grounds where he warmly greeted dignitaries who had gathered to pay their respects.

In attendance were paramount chiefs, divisional and sub-chiefs, government officials, religious leaders, representatives of security agencies, and executives from corporate institutions who extended congratulatory messages to the new Denkyirahene.

Also, present were the political class, including Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the immediate past Vice President of Ghana.

Odeefo Boa Amponsem, dressed in black kente, moved gracefully along the dais, exchanging smiles with guests.

The interactions were marked by mutual respect, laughter and traditional gestures of goodwill.

Also, representatives from the Central Regional House of Chiefs and traditional councils from neighbouring areas, also paid homage to Odeefo.

They pledged their support to ensure that Denkyira continued to grow in harmony and development.

As the event progressed, cultural troupes entertained the crowd with traditional dancing, drumming and performances, creating an atmosphere of joy and unity.

The exchange of pleasantries at Abankesieso did not only symbolise royal courtesy but also reflected the unity and respect that bind the people of Denkyira.

Speaking briefly during the exchange, the Media and Publicity team led by Mr Kofi Konadu of the University of Cape Coast Campus Broadcasting Services, expressed appreciation for the overwhelming show of love and solidarity from the people of Denkyira and beyond.

Mr Konadu, an indigene of Denkyira Kingdom, added: “We are deeply humbled by the support and presence of everyone here today. Your goodwill strengthens our resolve to serve Denkyira with dedication, peace and unity.”
