Ghana made history as thousands of entrepreneurs, innovators, and young professionals filled the streets of Accra for the Entrepreneurs’ March, a vibrant display of Africa’s growing entrepreneurial spirit and innovation culture.

The colourful procession which took place on November 1, 2025, brought the capital to life as participants dressed in branded Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF) T-shirts and waving national flags marched under the banner of prosperity, job creation, innovation, sustainability, and youth empowerment.

The march formed part of activities heralding the Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF) 2025, a three-day global gathering scheduled for November 21 to 23, 2025, in Accra, to be hosted by President John Dramani Mahama.

Placards carried by participants bore powerful messages such as “This is not a protest. It is a movement – an entrepreneurship movement,” symbolising a united call for inclusive growth, self-reliance, and innovation-driven development across Africa.

The event drew participation from entrepreneurs and changemakers across Africa and beyond.

It reflected a shared commitment to building a sustainable and inclusive economic future for the continent.

The atmosphere was charged with energy, creativity, and collaboration, the same forces driving Africa’s expanding startup ecosystem and digital economy.

The upcoming GEF 2025 is expected to convene over 10,000 global leaders, investors, policymakers, startups, and youth entrepreneurs from more than 70 countries, along with a virtual audience of 10 million.

Under the theme “The AI-Powered Entrepreneur: Creating a Sustainable Planet,” the festival will highlight the role of technology, innovation, and sustainability in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through enterprise and collaboration.

This year’s festival will feature 12 concurrent events designed to promote economic inclusion, digital transformation, and sustainable growth, offering participants unique opportunities to connect, learn, and collaborate on global entrepreneurial challenges.

Organisers, in a statement, said the march was not merely symbolic but a rallying call to Africa’s youth to rise as agents of change, creativity, and progress.

It also reaffirmed Ghana’s growing reputation as a regional hub for entrepreneurship, innovation, and opportunity, the statement said.
