Geoffrey Musey, also known Nana Sagoe, as was affectionately called Nana by family and Trounch by close pals. He was born on 13th September 1977 at Bethel Hospital in Tema, to Ernest Ben Musey Snr. and Mrs Naomi Musey, nee Anku-mah (of blessed memory).
He was the third of four children in the Musey family and also the third of three sons born in succession. Geoffrey was baptized at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Community 2, Tema, on 1st October 1977, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey of Christian faith. He later fellowshipped with Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, also in Tema, where his faith continued to grow and mature.
He began his basic education at Tema First Baptist School in 1980, where he distinguished himself both academically and socially. His leadership qualities shone early because he was the Head Boy at Baptist, a role in which he served with excellence and pride. Geoffrey made lifelong friends at Baptist, many of whom remained close to him until his passing.

After completing his basic educa-tion, Geoffrey sat for the Common Entrance Examination in 1989, he excelled and gained admission to St. Augustine’s College (Augusco), Cape Coast that same year. Though christened Geoffrey Noah Musey, he chose to drop “Noah” during his Common Entrance registration, because he had
endured enough teasing from his classmates.
By the time he entered Augusco, he was simply known as Geoffrey Musey. Attending Augusco was a proud continuation of the family tradi-tion, every male in the Musey family had passed through its halls. At Augusco, Geoffrey joined his two elder brothers and, being the youngest of the trio, received the expected measure of brotherly pampering and guidance.
While there, he also received his First Communion and Confirmation, further grounding his faith. Once again, he made lifelong friends, forming bonds that endured through the years.
He completed his O-Level studies in 1994 and continued to Tema Secondary School (Temasco) in 1995 for his Sixth Form education, where he successfully sat and passed the Advanced Level A-Level) examinations. then gained Geoffrey admission to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in 1998, where he pursued a Bachelor of Education in Psychology (BEd. Psychology). While at UCC, Geoffrey exhibited his passion for music fully.
He became a disc jockey at Radio Valco, where his personality and deep lively musical
knowledge quickly made him a listener favorite. He was honored with the Best DJ Award during his time at UCC, a recognition of his outstanding talent and passion for music.

During his stay at UCC, he also completed his teaching practice at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Teaching School, where he taught Social Studies.
Upon graduation, Geoffrey undertook his National Service at the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), where he was posted to the Accounting Department of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency. While at TMA, he proved himself an invaluable asset to the organization.
At a time when computer literacy was not yet wide-spread, Geoffrey stood out for his exceptional skill in using comput-ers, particularly the Microsoft Excel application. His exceptional use of the computer led to his attachment to the Budgeting and Planning Division, where he played a key role in budgeting tasks.
He served diligently for two additional years after completing his National Service, before joining his elder brother, Paapa, in the design graphic and freight forwarding Following his brother’s passing, Geoffrey gracefully took over the operations of the business, which he managed diligently and successfully until his own passing.
In 2003, Geoffrey met the love of his life, Grace, and after many years of companionship, they were united in holy matrimony in 2021. Their love was Sadly, deep and enduring. Grace passed away on 1st April 2025, just five months before Geoffrey’s own passing was a moment of great loss to Geoffrey.

Geoffrey was a devoted family man, always present at family gatherings, where he would light up the room with his humor. The last time many family members saw him was at a wedding, where he was his usual self, radiating joy and keeping everyone entertained. One of Geoffrey’s most remarkable traits was his ability to make and keep friends. He radiated warmth and extended genuine affection to everyone he met.
He was the embodiment of love, laughter, and life, the true definition of “the life of the party.” Geoffrey was super intelligent, an avid reader, and a lifelong learner. From childhood, he was curious and imaginative, with a love for collecting stamps, coins, and comic books. He had a keen interest in science fiction, history, and documentaries, and relished opportunities to explore new ideas and knowledge. His passion for music was remarkable.
Geoffrey had a personal music library that reflected his broad taste and deep appreciation for sound, owning over 1,000 CDs and hundreds of LPs. As music evolved into the digital age, he embraced it fully, amassing a vast digital collection of songs, movies, documentaries, and television shows.
In his leisure moments, he found joy in playing video games, pastime that reflected his youthful spirit and love for technology. He enjoyed taking long walks to stay healthy, listening to political talk shows on the radio, and spending quality time with loved ones.
Geoffrey had an impeccable sense of style and a deep appreciation for looking good. He was always intentional about his appearance and took great pride in his personal grooming.

His neatness and composure were trademarks of his personality. It is therefore no surprise that on the very day of his sudden passing, Geoffrey had gone to have his hair neatly trimmed, a testament that he was true to form, ever the gentleman, even to the end.
To sum up his life, Geoffrey Musey was a man of remarkable intelli-gence, humor, warmth, generosity and deep love. A man who lived meaningfully and left behind legacy of kindness, laughter, and cherished memories. Though he is gone from our sight, his light will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him.
