Stanbic Bank Ghana led by Mr Mawuko Afadzinu, Head of Brand and Marketing has presented office equipment valued at GHC120,000 to the Ho Teaching Hospital.
This is to operationalise its new Medical Tourism Coordinating Office, aimed at improving patient experience and boosting regional healthcare.
The donation included a four-in-one workstation, six swivel chairs, two 1.5HP air conditioners, a metal cabinet, two printers, two desktop computers, and a laptop. The items form the basic infrastructure required to set up the office as a fully functional unit.
Hospital officials say the Medical Tourism Office is expected to operate as a one-stop centre that integrates high-quality healthcare with smooth travel logistics, offering clients safe, affordable treatment while experiencing Ghana’s hospitality and culture.
Mr Mawuko Afadzinu, Head of Brand and Marketing at Stanbic Bank, who led the presentation, said the Bank viewed healthcare as a foundation for national growth and a core area of its community investment strategy.
He described the establishment of the Medical Tourism Centre as “a bold step” that could elevate the Hospital’s status as a regional leader in specialised care.
“Ho Teaching Hospital is already a pillar in this region, and with this new centre, it has the potential to attract medical tourists, expand access to care, and raise the standard of healthcare delivery,” he said.
“Better infrastructure leads to better service. And better service leads to better outcomes for the people who matter most — the patients,” he added, noting that the support formed part of a long-term commitment to strengthening communities.

Mr Afadzinu commended the Hospital’s leadership for their dedication, saying, “Your commitment inspires us, and we’re proud to walk this path with you. We believe this partnership will spark lasting change.”
Mr George Tetteh, Director of Administration at Ho Teaching Hospital, who received the equipment on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, expressed gratitude to the Bank for the gesture. He reaffirmed the Hospital’s vision of becoming the preferred medical tourism destination in the sub-region and called for continued support from stakeholders.
He disclosed that the Medical Tourism Office would soon introduce a music therapy studio to further enhance the hospital’s wellness tourism offerings.
