I’ve been betrayed by the woman I’ve called my best friend for years. She knows all my secrets — we talked about everything. I truly believed we could trust each other because of how long we’d been close.
My life has been a bit easier because my boyfriend abroad supports me. He sends me money to run my business and to take care of myself. I’ve never worked for anyone because I’ve always been sponsored, so I built my own business.
My friend hasn’t had it as easy. She once worked as a receptionist and always complained that her salary was too small, so I brought her into my business and paid her almost twice what she used to earn. I just wanted to help her because she was my friend.
We shared everything. I told her how much my boyfriend sent sometimes and the properties we’re working on. We even visited the sites together. Some men who approached me occasionally gave me money, and I even shared that with her.
She knew all this, but I never worried because I thought she was loyal.
Then on Friday evening, my boyfriend called, furious. He sent me voice notes and screenshots of messages I had exchanged with other men. No one has ever had access to my phone except my best friend, so I immediately knew she was the one.
I called her. She refused to answer. Later, she blocked me. I still haven’t heard from her.
Yesterday, my boyfriend’s brother came to collect everything my boyfriend had ever given me. They came with a list. They took the documents, money, accessories, and even the car I was keeping for him.
My friend didn’t only send him my chats — she added lies. She told him things that never happened. She even claimed I slept with certain men and gave their contacts for him to verify. She sent him a video of me kissing someone. I don’t even understand why she did all that.
I’m devastated. Losing a relationship I hoped would lead to marriage is painful, but being betrayed by my best friend hurts even more. She made money because of me. I supported her. I took care of her. Yet she destroyed me.
She never once advised me to do better. So why ruin my life like this?
I’ve been crying nonstop. I feel lost. And honestly, I want revenge.
