My husband has been working at a mall since 2023. Over time, he became comfortable at work and, together with some colleagues, started taking items from the mall to sell outside. He brought home items like fans, fridges, air conditioners, microwaves, blenders, bicycles, utensils, and more. He also supplied these items to people at cheaper prices and made good money from it.
Although this money made us comfortable, I was never at peace. I kept worrying that he would eventually be caught. Each time I raised my concerns, he assured me that he was not acting alone and that everyone involved had their share and protected one another. He told me there was nothing to worry about.
Two weeks ago, he did not return home from work. I called him repeatedly, but there was no response. He only returned the next day. When I went to his workplace to find out what had happened, I was told he had been arrested the previous day. The CCTV footage reportedly captured him several times taking items from the warehouse.
Despite our efforts, the case is still being prepared for court. The colleagues he mentioned have denied any involvement, leaving my husband to face the situation alone. I have also heard that the management is investigating how many items have gone missing since he started working there, which could make the case much more serious.
I am scared and deeply worried. There are multiple CCTV recordings of my husband carrying items from the mall. He had once told me there was someone who deleted the footage, but clearly that was not true.
I am unsure whether to spend all the money we have on this case, especially since I do not know what will happen if he is jailed for a long time or how I will survive. His family members say they have no money to help, and I feel completely alone. This involves powerful people, and I fear they will show no mercy.
Please advise me. I am confused, scared, and do not know what to do next.
