Volta Regional Minister delivers President’s Christmas message to Council of Churches

Mr James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, has engaged members of the Council of Churches in the Volta Region to deepen collaboration between government and faith-based organisations in promoting peace and development.

The meeting brought together representatives of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), and the National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches (NACCC).

Mr Gunu said the engagement was held on behalf of the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, to deliver a goodwill Christmas message and to convey the President’s profound appreciation to the Christian community for their continuous prayers and support for national peace, unity, and cohesion.

He extended the President’s warm Christmas wishes to Christians across the Volta Region and commended churches for their vital role in shaping moral values, fostering social harmony, and contributing to national development.

The Regional Minister noted that faith-based institutions remained indispensable as partners in governance and development, particularly in education, healthcare delivery, social protection, and conflict resolution.

He encouraged church leaders to continue interceding the nation’s leadership and citizens to ensure sustained peace and stability.

Mr Gunu assured the religious leaders of government’s readiness to sustain close collaboration with faith-based institutions, stressing that their partnership remained essential to building a peaceful, cohesive, and progressive nation.

Also present at the meeting were Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, Member of Parliament for Ho West and Chairman of the Volta MPs Caucus, and Mr Ludwig Akpene Hlordze, Director of Logistics at the National Headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
