In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the exercise, Mr Benedict Quayson, the Community Relations Manager for Clean Jobs Resources Ltd, said the initiative formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility in helping to reduce breast and prostrate cancers in the area.

He said the company would not only prioritise development, but also the health needs of the people within its operational areas.

He, thus, advised the people to take issues of breast and prostrate cancers seriously.

She promised to use her role as a beauty queen to educate more women, especially those in rural communities on the need to seek early medical attention on cancer related issues.

Madam Joyceline Egyir, a Public Health Nurse at the Juaboso Government Hospital, who led the screening exercise stated that breast cancer was the second leading cancer in the country, and advised women to seek early diagnosis for better treatment.

She also advised women to always do self-examination of the breast, and asked men above 40 years to also check their prostrate regularly.

Nana Kwame Nkentiah II, the Chief of Jomoro, on behalf of the other communities, lauded Clean Jobs Resources Limited for augmenting government’s efforts in fighting breast and prostrate cancers in the country.

He said the screening exercise would help determine their statuses as far as breast and prostrate cancers were concerned for possible treatments.

The traditional leader further advised the general public to seek regular medical check ups to live healthy lives.
