Hearts of Oak have sacked their manager Kim Grant after they made a losing start to the new Ghana Premier League season on Sunday.

The Phobians were stunned 1-0 by Berekum Chelsea. The defeat followed the President Cup loss at the hands of Asante Kotoko a week to the start of the league.

He has been replaced by  Edward Nii Odoom, who starts work with immediate effect. This means he will be on the bench when Hearts travel to Tarkwa for their second game of the season against Medeama.

The former Ghana international was appointed in 2018 and led them to the semi-finals of the NC Special Competition tier I.
