Police have arrested three persons in connection with organised taxi robberies

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three individuals believed to be part of a syndicate that conducts robberies from taxi vehicles.

The suspects were apprehended on Monday, 12th January 2026, through an intelligence-based operation.

Preliminary investigation outlines their method: operating at dawn, they would pose as a taxi crew.

With two in front and one concealed in the rear, they would pick up a passenger.

The doors were then locked, and during the victim’s attempt to alight, the suspect in the back would steal their belongings under the guise of assisting.

The suspects, named Sasu Lawrence (aka Agbe), Richard Osei, and Charles Kofi Nti (aka Survivor), are in custody.

The Police Service is pursuing all leads to arrest the receivers of the stolen property.
