A delegation from the 24-hour Secretariat, together with Indian representatives of the ATRI organisation based in Ghana, has visited the Nkwanta North District to engage traditional authorities on a proposed palm plantation project.
The team met chiefs and elders to formally convey government support for the initiative and to outline plans for establishing a large-scale palm plantation in the area.
The project is aimed at promoting agricultural development and industrial growth at the community level.
Mr Joe Onyame and Mr Konja Samuel, lead members of the delegation, said the initiative was expected to create employment opportunities, stimulate local economic activities, and contribute to the provision of electricity and other essential social amenities in beneficiary communities.
They explained that the engagement formed part of broader efforts to involve local stakeholders early in the planning process to ensure smooth implementation and sustainability of the project.
Ubor Konja Thasun VI, Paramount Chief of the Kpassa Traditional Area, welcomed the delegation and expressed the community’s full support for the project.
He assured the team of the readiness and commitment of traditional authorities and residents to cooperate to ensure its successful execution.
The delegation is expected to continue consultations with key stakeholders as preparations progress to ensure the project delivers lasting benefits to the people of the district.
