Ho West readies for 2026 BaSAQ-C as stakeholders align plans

A stakeholder meeting in Ho West has firmed up preparations for the 2026 Basic Schools’ Annual Quiz Competition (BaSAQ-C), bringing education leaders and community actors together to align plans for the programme.

The meeting, convened by the Office of Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, Member of Parliament for Ho West, in collaboration with the Ho West Education Directorate, was held on Monday, February 9, 2026, to streamline arrangements for the competition, scheduled to begin in the second week of February 2026 at Dzolokpuita in the Ho West District.

Officials described the engagement as a platform that enabled participating institutions and stakeholders to share ideas, refine strategies and ensure a smooth rollout of the contest.

Mr Bedzrah said the initiative remained a priority in promoting academic excellence, adding that the inputs gathered would strengthen delivery and broaden the programme’s impact.

He expressed appreciation to Mr Francis Dusey, Ho West District Chief Executive, and Mrs Paulina Slin Ewoade Gobe, the District Director of Education, for their active participation and continued support.

“I am grateful to my able DCE and the Education Directorate for standing firmly behind this project, which continues to motivate pupils across our basic schools,” the MP said.

Stakeholders told the Ghana News Agency that the quiz had become one of the district’s flagship academic events, fostering competitiveness and teamwork among pupils while encouraging schools to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

Organisers said they expected keen competition throughout the stages and looked forward to the grand finale scheduled for March 6, 2026, noting that “may the best school win.”
