The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Customs Division has intercepted 560 CHANG FANG diesel engines at the Tema Port.
The engines, suspected to be used for powering pumps at galamsey sites, were discovered concealed in a container during a routine inspection at the Golden Jubilee Terminal.
Commissioner-General Anthony Kwasi Sarpong praised the preventive unit for their vigilance, stating, “These officers chose national interest over personal gain. We will investigate the importer and agents involved thoroughly.”
