The Social Workers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has received the Outstanding Service in Promoting Ethical Standards and Professional Excellence Award at the third Ghana Development Awards.
The Association said the recognition underscored the critical role social workers played in promoting human dignity, strengthening families, and supporting vulnerable populations across the country.
In a statement issued by the National Executive of SWAG, the Association said it was deeply honoured by the recognition, describing it as a testament to the dedication and commitment of social workers across Ghana and beyond.
It noted that for many years, SWAG had remained committed to promoting professional ethics, building the capacity of social workers, and contributing to the country’s social and economic development.
According to the association, the award belonged to all social workers who worked tirelessly in communities, institutions, and organisations to protect vulnerable people and advocate for social justice.
It said social workers continued to play an important role in promoting well-being, human dignity, and development, as well as ensuring that the association’s mission of promoting human dignity and development is achieved.
It added that the association also ensures that social workers continue to play a vital role in building a just, resilient, and inclusive society.
