The Ghana Police Service has shot and killed a suspected armed robber believed to be part of a gang terrorizing the Atebubu–Ejura highway.
The operation, carried out on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, by the Police Intelligence Directorate in Ejura, resulted in the death of the suspect identified as Amadu, alias “Manu.”
According to a police statement on Friday, Manu sustained gunshot wounds during the operation and was pronounced dead on the spot.
Authorities have linked him to a March 14 attack on the highway, during which armed men fired on a moving vehicle, injuring a passenger.
