Mr Daniel Keshi Bessey, Member of Parliament for the Sege Constituency, has donated food items to Muslim communities across the constituency to mark the end of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The donation, aimed at promoting unity and supporting Muslim households, benefited communities including Sege, Koluedor, Matsekorpe, Hwakpo, Luhuor, Akplabanya, Anyamam, and several others.
The first phase of the distribution was held at the McDan Sports Complex in Sege, where a large number of Muslim faithful gathered, while subsequent distributions were carried out in other communities.
Items presented included bags of rice, cooking oil, tomatoes, and other essential food supplies.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Bessey said the gesture was to identify with the Muslim community and promote unity and inclusiveness, irrespective of religious differences.

“It is important that we stand together as one people, especially during significant moments like Eid. This is about unity, support, and development beyond religious lines,” he said.
He noted that although the items might not be sufficient to meet all needs, efforts were made to ensure that support reached as many Zongo communities as possible across the constituency.
The MP was accompanied by the Ada West District Chief Executive, Mr Mordjifa Tanihu Jerry John Foreigner Mills-Nkrumah, and some constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He assured constituents of his continued commitment to engaging communities and providing support beyond political activities.
Mr Bessey is expected to continue the next phase of the distribution to other communities on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Some Zongo chiefs, speaking on behalf of beneficiaries, expressed appreciation to the MP and his team and offered prayers for continued guidance and success.
Community members who received the items also expressed gratitude, noting that the donation would ease the burden on households and strengthen unity within the constituency.
